Fellowship of Reconciliation: for a World of Peace, Justice and Nonviolence
Mid-Missouri Fellowship of Reconciliation
The Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) is a group composed of people from many faiths, and no particular faith --
all coming together to support nonviolence and justice.
Offering people of conscience an action response to a morally-impaired U.S. foreign policy.

A Report on the Injustice in the Application of the Death Penalty in Missouri (1978-1996)(Microsoft Word document)
Researchers from Missouri and New York found that about one of every 100 homicides in Missouri resulted in a death sentence during that 18-year period. Race of the victim and race plus socio-economic status of the defendant were found to be great indicators of who ultimately received a death sentence.

Interfaith Peace-Builders sends delegations to Israel and Palestine so that U.S. citizens can see the conflict with their own eyes. Participants have the opportunity to learn directly from Israeli and Palestinian nonviolent peace/human-rights activists, to spend time in Palestinian and Israeli homes, and to experience the situation of Palestinians living under military occupation. The delegations focus on seeing, listening to, and recording the experiences and perspectives of a wide range of Palestinian and Israeli voices.

Interfaith Peace-Builder Delegation Arrives in Israel-Palestine

Despite heightened tension in the area after the assassination of Hamas spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, the Fellowship of Reconciliation is pleased to report that its ten-person Interfaith Peace-Builders' delegation crossed the Allenby Bridge from Jordan without incident early this morning and is safely in Jerusalem.
Nine U.S. citizens and one Canadian, comprising Christians, Jews and members of other faith traditions, make up this 11th Interfaith Peace-Builders' delegation since 2001. As part of their charge to learn about the region and engage in dialogue with its protagonists, the team will meet with peace and human rights activists, humanitarian assistance workers, community and religious leaders, victims of suicide bombings, refugees, settlers, educators and government representatives from across the political spectrum. The weekend assassination, and the response to it, makes the delegation’s visit all the more timely and important. The participants will be able to hear a wide variety of both Israeli and Palestinian views and see the impact of the assassination on both peoples.

    Report #1:
Tuesday evening, March 23rd at the St. George Guest House:
It is dark and quiet, very quiet and peaceful for Jerusalem. From outside the St. George compound there are no cars to be heard; from the windows no pedestrians to be seen. No shops to buy water, pick up some pills or exchange money. East Jerusalem and most of the West Bank has shut down in mourning at Israel's assassination of Sheikh Ahmad Yassin. Even the most anti-Hamas Christians we have met are angry at Israel's strike against Hamas, an action widely regarded as utterly counter-productive...
